#78: READ ALOUD | 🪔 Nature’s Pharmacy: The Science Behind Essential Oils

What they are, how they are made and what they do

Essential oils are more than just a nice fragrance. They can be a tool for enhancing well-being.

These powerful plant extracts are known for reducing stress and inflammation and improving sleep.

In this week’s Nina’s Note I dive into how they are made, the chemistry and biology behind them and some common oils and their uses.

What was the most interesting thing I learned researching this article?

That essential oils need to be diluted in a carrier oil like coconut or jojoba oil - not used directly on the skin! In this form they are too strong and can cause skin irritation.
